Notifications: email and Telegram
Involvo can reach you in three places: inside the app, by email, and on Telegram.
The three channels
In the app — always on. Notifications appear in Involvo whatever else you have turned off.
Email — on for the things that concern you directly.
Telegram — off until you connect your account, then the fastest of the three. Worth connecting if you do not check email often; a notification about an event closing tomorrow is not much use found next week.
What you can turn on and off
Four categories, each set separately for email and for Telegram:
- Event updates — changes to events you are involved with.
- Social activity — friend requests and what your friends are doing.
- Daily digest — a daily summary of what is new.
- Weekly digest — the same idea, once a week.
The two digests are the ones to think about. Daily suits someone actively looking for something to attend; weekly suits everyone else. Turning both on is usually one too many.
By default, digests are off for email and on for Telegram, while event updates and social activity are on for both. Nothing here is set in stone — the settings matrix lets you pick any combination.
What you cannot turn off
Messages needed for your account to work — sign-in links, password resets, and similar — are always sent. They are not marketing and there is no unsubscribe for them, because switching them off would lock you out.
Connecting Telegram
Connect it from your settings. There is a one-off reward in Impact Stars for doing so, and it becomes your fastest channel. See Earning and spending Stars.
Unsubscribing
Every non-essential email has an unsubscribe link, and you can change any of it from your settings at any time. Unsubscribing from email does not affect Telegram or in-app notifications — they are set separately.
