Saving events and reminders
Saving an event puts it somewhere you can find again and lets you set a reminder. On Involvo, saving an event and marking it Interested are the same action.
You need an account for this. See Do I need an account?
Saving
Open an event and mark it as interested. You can then filter the feed down to only the events you have saved, which is the quickest way back to a shortlist you built earlier in the week.
There is a Not interested option too. It tells Involvo an event is not for you, so you stop being shown things in that direction.
Reminders
Save an event first, then set a reminder on it. The reminder is attached to the saved event, so the order matters — there is nothing to attach a reminder to until the event is saved.
Reminders are worth setting for two different moments, and it is easy to think only of the first:
- Before the event, so you turn up.
- Before registration closes, which is the deadline that actually costs people places. Sorting the feed by registration deadline helps you spot these — see The feed and the calendar.
Removing a save also removes its reminder
If you unsave an event, its reminder goes with it. That is the intended behavior — a reminder for an event you have dropped is just noise — but it does mean you should not unsave something merely to tidy up a list if you still want to be reminded about it.
Saving can show you more than you could see before
On events where the organizer has chosen not to publish the exact time or address publicly, marking yourself as interested is what reveals them. So saving is occasionally not just a convenience but the way to see the full picture — see Reading an event page.
